- Real Madrid and holders Manchester City draw 3-3 in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal tie.
- Security was been stepped up in Madrid ahead of the match amid reported threats from the ISIL (ISIS) group.
- City took an early lead at the Bernabeu through Bernardo Silva but Madrid were ahead by the break. Phil Foden claimed the Player of the Match award for his goal that levelled the match before Josko Gvardiol and Federico Valverde also exchanged stunning strikes.
- Madrid are eight points clear at the top of LaLiga.
- City are third in the Premier League – one point behind joint leaders Arsenal and Liverpool.
- Arsenal drew 2-2 with Bayern Munich in London in the night’s other tie.
